What's wrong with it? Apart of the 'open issues' that one should always check out before updating.

Exactly. Don't update just to update. Nvidia release drivers based on game titles. So more popular games = more drivers. Studio drivers are released less frequent, so maybe choose those instead.

Thanks for the advice. That is probably what I am going to do from here on out, i.e., use only those studio drivers.
I have tried Studio Driver with this new version, but it could not recognize it for my sytem. I had to go the standard route:

I have installed a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Windforce OC 2G a few day ago

With NVIDIA GeForce GAME READY DRIVER (WHQL) Version: 436.48, I had 3 blue screen
    DPC Watchdog Violation

In event log, I can read

"The required GPU resources could not be accessed". This server cannot run as a RemoteFX host without a GPU. Verify that the GPU is correctly installed.
Testing again NVIDIA Studio DRIVER (SD) Version: 431.86

hope it the BSOD is gone
    wait and and see

    any advice ?

They are Nvidia drivers, not series specific.
    So yes.

But... it is recommended to do a driver clean install, anyhow, when switching GPUs from GamerNexus.

More important though is your Afterburner, or EVGA precision, or what ever OCing tool you use is reset to ALL defaults settings on at boot(all OC profiles turned off), or you might not make it into Windows.

It's only going to be temporary just so I can use the PC while I install the water block on my 2080 Ti.

No need to reinstall drivers, just reset your OC clocks and limits to default in your OC software, or set it not to start at boot at all.

A little tip for you, these new drivers seem to install files needed for RTX whether or not your card is capable, I know some GTX cards can enable RTX support, but if your card cannot or you don't want to reduce your card to a 1fps paper weight you can find and delete the Optix .dll file without causing any issues for the driver, this .dll is something like 120Mb in size and is pretty much dead weight for any non RTX card.

When I decided to go back to insider preview on my desktop yesterday and updated to 1909 WU installed an older driver and refused to allow me to install 436.48 using the standalone installer forcing me to let experience do it.
