I've just noticed a dev setting in version 419.35.

I've not had time to see what it does though.

It enables a GPU performance counter entry for developers to either use as an administrative access or for all users. It's a low-level access perfToolkit for debugging and identification primarily for developers. Vulnerabilities for it was addressed in the previous driver.

So for the average user there's absolutely no point in enabling it.

You can click on it if you want.

But it just adds an entry in the Control panel for performance counter restrictions.

Does it say driver version: DCH for you now in the nvidia Control panel under information?

EDIT: Ok, there's no info on this driver yet, but it seems to be for insiders or RPs. Normal versions of Windows should see this driver - or another one - later this week or maybe the next from Nvidia official (game ready for DMC, The Division 2). It might have a good amount of fixes or changes because it's a new branch as well. We'll see later when we get more info on this.

Driver 419.35 confirmed later today. Driver 421.65 is for release preview.

I don't believe that you can directly switch from Standard to DCH drivers. I used Wagnard's DDU to totally uninstall my old Nvidia driver and then was able to switch to the DCH version of driver 419.35. It was difficult finding the link to the Microsoft Store App version of the Nvidia Control Panel, but I finally found that as well. That Nvidia Control Panel app only works with the DCH driver.

I also put my PC in the Release Preview Insider Ring, but was not offered version 421.65 as of yet.

Apparently, 421.65 may help with performance issues caused by KB4482887.
