Needed these badly as I have the black screen on wake issue.
Could you give me a nudge if these drivers fixes the issue for realsies this time? I'm on a busy schedule so I can't test.

Can someone explain the basic differences between the "DCH" and "standard" Windows 10 drivers? I'm assuming there are specific use-cases / benefits for each? For reference, I have a laptop with a GeForce 940M, however HP rarely updates drivers on their website so I've been using GeForce Experience to keep my driver automatically updated.

I recently switched to DCH drivers for both Intel graphics as well as Realtek audio, so I was considering doing the same for Nvidia. I'd like to know if there is any significant risk / drawbacks involved. For example, after switching will GeForce experience still auto-update drivers and know to stick with DCH drivers?

P.S.: Apologies if this question is already answered in the thread, I tried using the thread search tool but it errored out on my "dch" query.

@jeffrey You can read more about it here: Getting Started with Universal Windows drivers - Windows drivers | Microsoft Docs

It's a universal driver model for v1809+ -- that will probably replace the current model at some point in time -- and is made to work across several devices for system OEMs and UWP-based Windows' to make it easier for builders. In theory they should offer improved security over legacy drivers in how they are being distributed and installed, but it's nothing to worry about. There may be other differences, but I don't know them sorry. There's no benefit to performance or anything like that, or at least not documented. GFE will find the correct driver for you, no worries.

@DooGie yup Maybe tomorrow,? who knows. The RTX 2060 is out on the 15th so we should definitely expect new drivers soon-ish, and also for Nvidia's VRR experiment.

Hmm, if they are functionally identical, I might test the DCH version out of curiosity. According to some other posts I've read, sounds like I will need to use DDU to fully uninstall the current Nvidia graphics driver though.

Is this still an issue for you @Faith? 417.58 definitely fixed the black screen on wake for me. That was a Hotfix driver too I think.

Just remember to grab the nvidia control panel from the Microsoft store if it's missing. They won't be included in the DCH versions.

Dunno, I haven't tested yet, ha The notes says it's fixed, and you're confirming it too, so fingers crossed when I update them later on.
