    Extra monitor not detected

    Extra (2nds) monitor not detected

plugged id a working Acer G185H VGA LCD 18' monitor with DVI adapter to my new system
and the display reads Cable not connected
Yet my TV that's plugged in via HDMI works fine

Tried win+P,Tried my nvidia adapters settings and normal Windows display and it's not being detected

    Ideas? (all drivers are current)

Your system specs tell that you have a notebook computer. Usually laptops and notebooks can only use one external display at any given time, maximum two displays one of them being the laptop / notebook display.

Short: you cannot use two external displays at the same time. Disconnect the HDMI / TV if you want to use DVI / VGA display.

Are you sure the DVI output is DVI-I or only DVI-D
Did you check the adapter, just in case it's defective
What brand and model of video card? assembled or reference card
