    HDMI port not working

    Hi,
I recently unplugged my HDMI cable from my gpu (980ti), once I plugged it back in, the monitor didn't detect any signal. My computer can't find any other monitor, only my main display. Already tried to switch between HDMI cable but still nothing. the HDMI port itself still looks pristine. I don't know why it isn't detecting the second monitor anymore.

Did you already try another HDMI cable? That was unclear to me in the original post. What monitor are you using and is it set to HDMI input?

Also right click the desktop and select display settings then click the detect link, see if the monitor is detected. If that does not work, right click the desktop and select Nvidia control panel. Once there select 'set up multiple displays and see if that helps.

    Thanks for the reply,
I already tried another HDMI cable but it still didn't work. And both the Nvidia and the windows control panel aren't detecting any monitor (only my primary). My primary monitor is using a DVI port while the second one is using an HDMI port. The second monitor (wich is actually a tv) is set to HDMI input.

What happens if you disconnect the DVI and just have the HDMI Plugged in? Will your TV show the new HDMI input?

Just a thought: I was recently given a nice 27" ASUS monitor [in lieu of having to move it 2000 Miles] that has VGA, DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI inputs. I do have to use the monitor's Menu buttons to choose which port is to be used. It was quite handy when having to work on a Notebook that was dropped breaking the screen and having only an HDMI port for an external monitor. The HDMI port replaced the VGA port found on a number of Notebooks that can attach a projector or monitor. Just more of technology marching on.
