Zotac is the brand of my old card. I'm still leaning more to the 1660 tho just because it's EVGA. Plus while i think it was probably not the card's fault, my Zotac DID self destruct and that leans me even more in the EVGA direction. Same price too. I think Gost only agreed the first one u mentioned was pretty even is because he didn't realize the one you suggested wasn't the same one as in the test and figured the price made it a good way to go. So at the same $ i am leaning 1660. I do appriciate your research tho, thanks.

    Ok.
You won't lose much in fps with the 1660 compared to the 3050 (8gb).
Yes he thought it was the one from the tomshardware test. The 3050 6gb is really too truncated in performance to the point that it doesn't need the pci-e connector.

1660 is fine card for that system, anything past it is not advised for that system. You could go higher but its not ideal unless you heavily overclocking the whole computer and even then its still not optimal, There will still be deficit on some workloads.

Should i cancel my order? It's been 9 days and it hasn't shipped or charged my account. Being a discontinued card i think maybe they ddin't have one in stock and couldnt find one but aren't willing to let me know in hopes of finding one. What else could it be? Is there another brand aside from evga i should consider and just cancel this one? What would u do?

EVGA will be hard to find because the company went out of graphics card business like 3 years ago roughly. This means all EVGA cards are highly collectable so there wont be any for you to buy.

Just get any other manufacture, They are all good. Not sure why you have a dislike to MSI either they are a solid company just like everyone else.

I just recall some bad press on MSI years ago.

Well, nevermind, it shipped. I hope this isn't some sort of scam.

All manufactures get some sort of PR issues over time all of them have had bad press for one reason or another. Because computers are a highly innovative industry they are subject to many issues. Majority of the problems we have with parts are down to innovation. Its easy for a company or brand to make a mistake that won't get caught until the hardware is mass adopted in the public. Its not their fault its just that innovation is bleeding edge path.

One brand i have always had an infinity too is Asus, which got reemed not long ago for their socket issues, many people complaining. That does not mean anything they are still a solid company. Its funny how fast people are to throw them under the bus though even though they have released some of the best HEDT based parts in history.

There is not much difference between brands anyway they are all pretty reliable, MSI is a top tier brand, most of the time its just fanboyism why one person would say X is better over Y.
