Hi all,

This is for my Dell Precision 7820 work computer which has an Nvidia Quadro P2000 graphics card connected to it.

The machine is a beast otherwise sporting a couple of Xeon Silver CPUs and 64gb of RAM, but I don't think those details are important.

2 of my monitors are pretty standard Samsung LCD's. One is a high-res Samsung which has a max resolution of 3840 by 2160. I have that monitor configured to run at 1920x1080 in this environment (I use the increased resolution of this screen when I connect my MAC laptop to it). The final monitor is just an old viewsonic 22 inch monitor (Of note - This monitor is connected using a startech USB graphics card)

Everything was working decent until recent, when the high res samsung monitor in my setup started flashing on and off annoyingly. If I am not doing anything on my machine, it seems to stay on more consistently, but as soon as I start moving my mouse, the problem starts up again. I downloaded and installed the latest driver for the graphics card from Nvidia, I also downloaded and installed the driver for the Monitor from Samsung. Neither of these steps seems to have helped. I have likewise tried messing with the refresh rate on the monitor setting it to 50k instead of 60k, etc, but none of those steps have helped either.

I'm stumped on what else to try and am here hoping some of you might have some suggestions.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Windows OS Build 19045.3930

Hopefully, I may have fixed it. I have 1 other machine connected to this monitor which works fine so I knew that the monitor itself is working correctly.

I just pulled the display port connection cable on the problem pc from both the monitor and the graphics card on the back of the tower, and plugged the same cable back in. That appears to have helped. Or at least, the monitor has stayed on for about 3 min now without any issues, which was not possible before.

I will report back if it stays good for the next few hours.

For clarity sake, I had tried to snug the plug in with the monitor and on the back of the PC before, but I did not physically remove and re-plug the cables in until just now. If it starts failing again, I may try swapping the cable next.

Marking solved. Seems something was flaky in the physical connection. Has been working steadily all afternoon.
