    okay.......

    1. Irfanview ( the most used image viewer on Windows ) can run your slide-show in a self-expanding .exe or via the program as an automatic slide-show, or you could just switch to whatever folder via the keyboard ( without using the mouse at ).

    2. Yes you could use power-point but why? I mean I know a theater professor who makes her presentations for the classroom using this method.

    3. You could also make a flash .exe file that plays like a slide-show ( AScript 2 not Actions script 3 ) and make a slide-show.
Later Action Script 3 .exe flash will not work on Windows 11 ( some variant of windows 10 ) and not going into that but is another
    option.

    ................................

IDK why you are using a dedicated sound mixer. Looks like something from a theater stand-point view. I have been to fashion shows with lame mouse-pointer backgrounds to big over the top HDMi clone displays. I mean if you managing sound at the same time, you might as well time your slideshow which all the above is able to do, and then work the sound-station. Next your going to be hiring a lighting operating expert ( the person who dims the lights and controls those things while the show is going on ).

Anyhows.....Winamp 2.91 has many options, and plugins but many media players like Winamp also have plugins.

Things have moved on a little since my last post and the technicians will hopefully taking on their responsibilities for all this using QLab, the projector, mixer and lighting equipment. My responsibilities are currently getting the images right in GIMP which I have been learning the hard way over the last few weeks. At least know I can achieve some images with a respectable quality whereas a few weeks ago I didn't really know how to use it at all.

I've downloaded IrfanView and will put some sample images into it and will see how it goes so I get an idea about how all this works.

I would have liked to use an advanced screen which I saw a few weeks ago at a show at another venue with different facilities but we are stuck with the facilities at this venue. Nevertheless this theatre is better than the other one.

Thanks for all your advice and we've been given deadlines to get everything ready for the technicians in the next two days so I will be busy with this while many people will be having their festive meals etc.
