i don't really bother personally because its minute, just cap to refresh rate or use Gsync depending on game. Gsync is best for fighting games where you want high FPS throughput but no tearline so like figiting and competitve games and then everything else that does not require that gets locked to refresh rate.

Everything else outside of that is measuring bees dicks for gains that you probably won't even notice.

    Think i'll buy the 4070Ti.
Before that, a final question.. will it fit in my computer case?
Any webservice to calculate stuff like that?
Case is the BeQuiet Pure Base 600 BGW20 - PURE BASE 600 | Window Orange silent essential PC cases from be quiet!
    Case Technical Data:
    Case size excl. stands (L x W x H), (mm) 492 x 220 x 445
    Case size incl. stands (L x W x H), (mm) 492 x 220 x 470

    GPU Technical Data:
ASUS TUF GAMING RTX4070Ti 12 GB GDDR6X - ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX ™ 4070 Ti 12GB GDDR6X OC Edition | Graphics Card | ASUS | Global - Tech Specs
    Dimensions
    305 x 138 x 65 mm

The gpu dimensions are lower so it should fit? But what about the motherboard it also needs space, do i count gpu+motherboard dimensions?

    Thanks for the info Brink.

Changed my mind, isn't worth paying an insane price for the current 40 series, i'll wait for the 50 series that will use GDDR7 and buy a low or mid end model that will come in cheaper than the current 4070Ti and at the same time beat it in performance.

Ask yourself if you need the upgrade or just want the upgrade. I bought a 2070 super going from a 980 super triple fan 12gb. The difference is not very big unless i want to render stuff in 3D using real time shaders.

I didn't really need the upgrade but wanted it because i do 3d stuff other than that its imo not wise to upgrade atm.
Cards especially and computers are going out of date like hotcakes so unless you need the extra functionality i think choose your battle.

The 1080ti is still a strong card it can do DX 12 ultimate and latest OpenGL, Vulkan. if you still feel good in the games you play then consider waiting.

Its all hype train just because the cards are getting replaced fast does not mean that they are no good 1080 is still plenty of power, one of my computers still uses a keppler card so 780ti and that card in its own right is still very solid it can play many games and is keeping up in its old age.

The influences online are designed to make people think they are being left behind. Depending on what you do on the computer then buying a 4x series card is throwing money away if you don't actually need that power. I would say if you are going to do rendering or Ai learning then you would be making the most of your money with those to options,

games not so much because games are not really rendering in real time that much yet they are but its way less common and still new ground.
Benchmarks are good for comparing parts but they are not always good for determine if you should upgrade. Real world work loads don't saturate the computer like a benchmark will because the benchmark is about stressing throughput which is not an accurate simulation of real world workloads.

We are already at 4090 so that means the next line will be close.

I agree it doesn't make sense to "upgrade" a graphics card when the current one serves it's purpose.

The 1080 Ti is a beast, the card delivers great performance on 1920x1080p and even 2560x1440p.
    If i had a rog strix 1080 ti i wouldn't even think about upgrading but i don't.
Made the terrible mistake to purchase an msi card and regret it ever since.
The cooling of the card is terrible, constant 84C which is the limit.
The performance of this particular card is limited by the BS cooling.
The strix variant doesn't reach these temps.

Hypetrain hah? Let the rats feed on that train. I don't like it.
Marketing brainwashing and adverstising doesn't work with me. I hate it.

    Wait now, benefit later.
RTX 5060 Ti 12GB GDDR7 will be faster and cheaper than the 4070 Ti.
I'd be a fool to let nvidia win this greedy war.
