Everyone, yes my tv does have a connection to the internet. Yes I can try sign into netflix, but still need an account and my brother-in-law's does NOT work

I still say "SHAME on Netflix" for making the policy change. In my opinion it was and still is a stupid move. I believe they will lose customers because of this policy. They have already jacked their prices up to conpensate for lost revenues.

Today these smart TVs provide so much entertain it is NOT even funny.

Take care guys. Have a nice day.

Well, if you were sharing your brother-in-law's account that's what'll happen... You would need your own account. I just use the free services of Pluto, Crackle and Tubi along with over the air free TV (remember that?) No special antenna required by the way. That's a marketing gimmick. So long as it's tuned for the VHF and UHF band you're good. A pair of old 1980s rabbit ears could still work depending on your area...

TV = Android TV , Amazon TV. See the version of Android running on most television sets is called something that is "Android" tv. Most smart televisions are pieces of leftover tablets that are limited to "Landscape" mode but fear not many Android applications ( like the ones on your phone ) are still able to work. That being said avoid Android 12, and possibly 11. Because as time goes by they make it hard to have more freedoms for your device. Since spinsters and single mothers have money.

If your TV is android supported and or have access to an apps section then look for "Download". This is a web-browser made specifically so you could install/download applications via websites you otherwise could not use at all. You can browse internet with it but that is not what we want to do with this device.

That being said you need to make sure you can install applications from unknown sources.

    Being it is Android

You can possible install from USB if your TV can read from it. So take your favorite android applications and install. However not all will work.

Newpipe - Youtube replacement - if possible. checkout F-droid

Kodi - is another type thing. I forget what it is called but you can log into an Prime account and then logout without disabling the "TV"

As with VOIP ( phone over internet services ) there are TV services ( I do not mean Apps ) that allows you to order a Channel package. You will not get this from your cable provider. Imagine all your cable channels in something that was almost $7 for a year. Just saying and all. What you get a special code, which you use with whatever app, program, or micro-controller device and presto you have tons of channels possible from around.

Another factor as with P2P, there is a program that allows for watching of media in terms of streaming. However even that is limited.
Basically like TV but depends on how many other users are also viewing the same item, Basically cloud-computer 101.

    .............

All the TV you want for next to no dollars.
