UPDATE: Intel just released a new graphics driver so this gave me the perfect opportunity to test your suggested fix to update the driver from version 4824 to 4826. I followed your procedure to the letter. The problem with this approach is that it won't let you install not even the new driver, so in gpedit I had to disable the rule to allow installation and after installation enable it again so that Windows Update now does not update to old drivers. But in the end having to enable and then disable the gpedit rule is as much work as letting Windows Update install the old drivers and then roll back to the newest in Device Manager. I think this happens because when you say to select all hardware ID's, there must be one of those hardware ID's that cannot be included in the rule so that the new driver can be installed.

Yes, I did not update my forum profile, thanks. I prefer to install latest Intel drivers rather tha Dell specific ones. I always did this and never had issues.
Try installing driver from device manufacturer website as they will have the newest device driver, which will stop any old driver installation by Windows Update.
