    Sudden issue with KVM switches!

Strangely, my KVM switch has stopped outputting video from my computers (a 7 & 10) to the monitor. Everything will work just fine if I omit the KVM switch and cable directly from monitor to computer! I have had three of these IOGEAR GCS72U since 2019, the most recent one was purchased in August of 2023 and returned to Amazon about 1 week later as it too did not work. These switches reportedly will work with OS starting with Windows XP (which I originally had in a three system mix). Am wondering what in the world has happened here as I don't think the KVMs are at fault. This specific system is a Windows 10 - Version22H2. Am attaching some DXDIAG screenshots. Welcoming all thoughts! THANX!!!

I use a TRENDnet 4-port KVM with Win7, Win10, Win11, Linux Mint, have for several years and haven't seen any issue. It uses only a USB cable and a VGA cable. Only thing different after connecting this Win11 computer is the need for a DisplayPort adapter to VGA as it has no VGA port on it, don't see any issue. Have you considered a different brand?

Side note: spent the first 2 years of '60s stationed at NAS Quonset Point.

    Sudden issue with KVM switches!

I have given a smidgeon of thought to that possibility. But, the removal of the KVM and the problem disappearing leaves me wondering what exactly is the issue? As noted, I purchased another brand new unit thru Amazon which was no help and is being returned. May consider a KVM with an adapter from the monitor(VGA) to HDMI and purchase a KVM with HDMI input and outputs. This may be no help at all. At my age and living on a fixed income I am not to thrilled to be spending more than I have to. As an aside: In the early 60's thru the early 70's I was with the Data Processing Division in the Bureau of the Census in Suitland, Maryland.

The only possibility I can think of now is the Power options for the computers may be involved, may be turning them off?

Look for a KVM that uses active input to keep the monitors thinking there is a signal when not switched to, same with the computers.
