Windows updates take care of drivers.
Details of hardware are sent to MS.
Sony does not supply drivers anymore. Laptop hardware is rather specific to a manufacturer and drivers directly from Nvidia probably will not work.

Your drivers will not install unless the correct hardware is detected. I know mine do the same thing. It is very picky. Otherwise you have to use forceware which might not even allow full resolution or GPU calls at all.

    A. You could download the correct drivers for the GPU but chance it needs to be exactly for the Mobile ( Labtop ), or Desktop. Whichever variant of that Driver.

    B. You could get similar drivers and install. Like a wrong ____ driver but still works and may or may not have errors.

    C. Another solution is that if you have a real programmer ( Like a person who could reverse engineer ) that could reverse-engineer the drives and update them for your OS installation/GPU. Like take apart a linux driver and make it run for a Windows computer vice-versa. You could politely request this from somebody

    A. Because Microsoft have their system where drivers are being updated to hardware not being supported. If you did make your own driver you could possibly have to disable driver signing rather then using the universal-signature ( whatever that is ) . This is done to an extent where windows-defender, will see various installations that are unofficial as threats. Because Microsoft

It is like me trying to install the Honey App ( owned by paypal ). It is almost impossible to find because Amazon is waging a war against ebay ( which owns Paypal )

    B. The same could be done for the PPC OSX system where you literally could have any card in a PPC machine but because this further would require physical changes ( soldering ) to the GPU itself.

    - do you mean you have previously successfully installed the driver with Win 10 installed?

This laptop appears to be from around 2007. Probably came with Windows Vista.
    Amazon.com

Did it originally come with a 32 bit O/S?

If you've installed a 64 bit O/S then you've much less chance of finding a compatible driver.. and there may be a RAM limitation.

Feel free to try SDI (Snappy Driver Installer) - free.
I would only ever suggest a tool like that in this sort of circumstance.

As you are trying to use this ancient device with an unsupported O/S, the risk- and the resolution, if any- are of course yours.
