Please advise on the right graphics card to purchase

Setup:
ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WIFI II motherboard
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 Core processor
Memory: 64 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1013
Monitor: LG Ultrawide 5120 x 2160 resolution
Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621.

This is not a gaming system. I't used for business activities. I have 5 virtual desktops and I can have between 150 to 200 web browsers open, multiple apps, and multiple instances of apps. I've built that system and it is completely silent which I love. However, the screen is sluggish: switching between the virtual screens lags in response. Playing youtube at full-screen mode is sluggish, and minimizing and maximizing windows is sluggish. I don't have more than one youtube playing at a time, I'm not playing games and my apps consist in dev apps, office, visio, pdfs, that sort of things.

I want to know if what I'm facing is due to the video card I picked and if I should replace it with someone better like the Palit GeForce GTX 1650 KalmX (I'm not an expert but it seems that this card would be better than the one I presently have).

Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

it might not be the GPU, browsers get really sluggish when you open many tabs. What browser are you using?

With that many tabs open you would want to make use of addons that unload inactive tabs. I don't think any browsers have this as an autonomous feature but there is addons to do it.

The GPU you have should be fine for browsing.

Is it really necessary to have that many tabs open? Many people will discard unused tabs because the browsers start getting really slow after a threshold.

You would want to look at tweaking your browsers settings and making sure its running fast and optimal, you should probably if you don't have these setup look at adblocking and also JS blocking and blocking other webservices that you don't require. The more data that you can trim from the browser while it is running the less overhead you will have and you will also get the security that comes along with that.

The only way you will know if its the GPU is to look at what it is doing while you have that many tabs open. Just monitor it in task manager or use an app that has a print out of the GPU in real time.

I don't think this will be the issue though its just going to be more i/o related and centered around your Hard Drive and Ram most likely.

GPU prices are still ridiculous, but, not as bad as they were a year or two ago with people spending £2k +for a card. If you are not gaming there is no need to upgrade the GPU as it will make little difference and you may find your choice of outputs limited.

I have a GTX1070 which is considered antique now, but, it does everything I need very well. A GTX1650 might make you feel like it's better ( it has a bigger number, that's just marketing ) but, you will most likely see no difference.

With that many browsers open, the most obvious upgrade would be RAM, 64GB is a lot but if you have 200 browsers open at the same time ( how you can possibly see all of that efficiently - I don't know ) then that will be used up pretty quick.
