How to force Windows 10 to use correct resolution on external monitor?

My computer at work (a job I literally just started last week) is a Lenovo Thinkpad T470 hooked up to a HP monitor (forgot to write down the model number, but not super important). Graphics unit is the integrated Intel HD 620, hooked up with HDMI through the laptop dock.

Problem is the monitor is 1920x1200 (16:10) native, but Windows doesn't list that as an option, and only goes up to 1920x1080, which as far as I can tell is the native resolution of the laptop, and that makes everything slightly stretched and some elements blurry. Since we use the laptops in docked/closed mode, the external monitor is the primary display.

Windows 10 says it's up to date, and is 21H2 (forgot to check the build number, but should be the latest if it's up to date). It lists the detected monitor correctly as the HP monitor (so not "generic monitor"), and states it's using the Intel graphics driver.

- Tried running the Intel driver updater, but it said to use the Lenovo driver, so got the latest graphics driver from Lenovo, which didn't help.
- Tried deleting the graphics processor from device manager and let Windows redetect it, which also didn't help.
- Tried manually forcing it to use the driver I got from Lenovo, which also didn't help.

The HD 620 is more than capable of running 1920x1200 (and higher), so don't understand why it's not an option. The device properties list 1920x1080 as the highest resolution, and only other options are lower.

But is there any way to force Windows to use the correct resolution? Or is this a limitation set by Lenovo? I'm not familiar with using laptops in a docked setup like this, where the monitor is a completely different resolution, so have never come across this problem before.

You cannot since it is dependent on the GPU and the fact that you have a hub attached. HDMi output on laptops is meant for allowing a person to send a presentation to a projector not for watching movies or playing games. You would need a proper external GPU unit that uses uSB to get better resolution.
