Win 10 & Intel Graphics 4600 driver not working.

Hi There,

After a Win 10 update, the Intel graphics 4600 drive no longer works. The only way I can the laptop to work is by disabling the driver. This has resulted in the second monitor being detected by Windows even though both monitors are on and mirror each other.

I have downloaded the Intel diagnostics utilities but I have not been able to fix the problem and am completely up to date with the latest version of Win 10.

Not sure what the Win 10 update did or if connected to the issue.

Can someone please supply a fix, I cannot be the only one having this issue.

It's so frustrating when all is working and either the Win update or drivers fail when all was working and you have to go through the procedure to fix their issues.

What driver are you on ?

I have been using HD4600 for 9 years and every driver installed by Windows updates has worked.

It could be something like the HDD or maybe other hardware as it is quite old.

Driver version - 20.19.15.5171 / 4/11/2020

This issue maybe the display panel connector internally in the Laptop, or it might be a panel problem.
It must be around 9 years old whch makes failure of some part of the hardware more likely.

The fact you can use an external monitor means the drivers are working.

Looks like you have updated from Intel, you may loose customisations by doing that.

You can uninstall the driver and Windows updates will install a driver. Maybe use the Roll back driver feature, Device manager, Properties, Driver Tab. Hopefully getting back any customisations.
Assuming you are not blocking diagnostc data sent to MS.

I'm on 5070 which was rolled back from 5126. Both work so it does not matter. My notes say that it is not listed in Windows update catalogue nor in Intels list.
Over the years there has been 6 Windows 10 updates starting in June 2016 with 4331 they have all worked and all from Windows updates.
