No I haven't done that, just not an option
In case it was not obvious, it does not need to be another computer, anything capable of outputting video will do - games console, DVD player etc. etc. The idea is to confirm whether the problem you are facing is with the monitor or your computer, if we swap your computer out for another video source, it should determine which it is.

Another option is to try power resetting the monitor. Disconnect the power lead and hold the power button down for about 30 seconds, then reconnect to power and turn it on.

I have a Acer predator z271 monitor plugged in to my pc via dp and Gigiabyte RTX 3060 TI graphiics card on Windows 10 . When I switch the setup on the monitor starts with a multi colored screen with no wallpaper showing at all.
Sometimes it can easily take up to 20 minutes to clear up and be useable.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated please
"Switch the setup on ... " I assume that means the monitor is on when the computer boots up ?

If so, try with the monitor off when booting, wait a few secs, then turn the monitor on.
