Ludicrous lack of display screen brightness adjustment

Many Windows 10 systems provide pathetically ineffective means of adjusting display screen brightness and not infrequently none whatsoever. Obviously the MS devs and their CEO don't suffer from migraine. It's so important for the optical comfort of many yet MS seems oblivious to the need for this vital feature. I have a pair of sunglasses to mitigate the discomfort. You would think that someone at MS would have the common sense to address this rather important issue.

    Hello hake,

Do note that the usual display brightness settings are only available for built-in displays like on laptops and tablets, and not for a desktop PC with an external monitor.

You can still check in the tutorial below for an available option to adjust the display brightness to help.

You might also check out the Night Light feature below to see if it may be helpful to you. Your display will show warmer colors that are easier on your eyes.

You might try a small free executable named Dimmer. It creates an infinitely variable greyish overlay which i find removes the sensation of my screen glaring at me. I have found real relief from screens designed to be flicker-free and blue light controlled. But short of that, Dimmer is the best I've found.

Also aim to eliminate large areas of the typical off-white - from file explorer backgrounds to browser backgrounds. E.g. I have:

Consider your graphics card settings: (e.g. mine on a laptop):
