Wierd 3rd monitor calibration issue.
Hello everyone.
So I have had this issue for a bit. I have (had) a three monitor set-up for a bit | Left= HP Pavillion 23xi ( 1920x1080 ) HDMI | Center = Iiyama XU2792UHSU (3840x2160) Displayport | Right= Dell 2407WFP (1200x1920) DVI driven by a GTX 1070 8GB on Win10 19045.2486.
I could not for the life of me calibrate the HP 23xi, it was always very washed out with zero dark tones, the other monitors calibrated fine with the Colormunki photo. I just accepted the HP was cr@p and carried on focusing my main content creation on the Iiyama.
This is the thing, I eventually grew tired of this and moved the HP monitor over to an office computer and the monitor was absolutely fine with the full gamut of tone and colour.
My question is this, Is there a calibration/monitor limit on 'lower' spec GPUs? I noticed the 1070 ran much hotter with three monitors, which was to be expected as it had to work harder to pump out those pixels. Are there compatibility/bandwidth issues with HDMI cables? I am thinking they might not play nice with DP and DVI.
I thought this was weird so I would like to see if anyone else had seen this kind of thing.
All the best
