New monitor will not work with HDMI connection

Running Windows 10 Pro on ASUS P590 motherboard, intel i7 processor:
Got a new monitor today- its connections to PC are either HDMI or VGA. Older monitor had only VGA output, but since my newer motherboard has both types of outlets on it, I decided to try HDMI. I tried 4 different HDMI cables and get the same error "no cable connected" each time. Connected VGA cable & it works perfectly. Question- do I have to uninstall or disable my outboard Radeon video card for HDMI to be active on my ASUS motherboard?

Did you set the monitor to accept the HDMI input?
Sorry for the bad pic, but the monitor will have a way to "select" what type of cable you are using...

Yes I did set new monitor to HDMI input but message of "no cable connection" makes me wonder if all 4 HDMI cables tried are "bad" quality.

Do you perhaps have a nearby computer-equipped friend who would let you test your monitor with each of your cables on the friend's computer?
And possibly test a proven HDMI cable belonging to your friend.
It could be the quickest & clearest way to isolate the cause of the fault.

    Best of luck,

Thanks to both Denis & Ghot for your suggestions. I currently am using VGA cableing and will continue to dwell on other possibilities. The search for a solution continues...

As Denis mentioned... the easiest way to troubleshoot this is with a known good cable, and to try the monitor on a different computer as well.

Does your processor actually have onboard graphics? - the presence of connectors on the motherboard does not mean that it does.

It used to be normal for fitting a graphics card to disable onboard graphics - I expect the same is true for processor graphics. Check your BIOS setting, also check device manager to see if you have 2 active display adaptors.

Do you have HDMI on your graphics card?

Thanks to everyone who offered assistance in this dilemma. RQT's suggestions that I check my video card for an HDMI output was golden- it has that output and upon connecting one of my HDMI cables, I immediately got a perfect picture. My tiny brain had forgotten that the video card had such an output.
Once again, thank to all who offered suggestions. This matter is now resolved and discussion closed.

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]
