    HDMI TV to PC Desktop?

I just want to know if I connect my HDMI cable to the back of my PC desktop tower will work. I'm able to do it on my laptop but, I've just recently got my new desktop PC about a few weeks ago.

I have two HDMI ports on the back of the tower, one for the monitor and one where I think I can hook up to my TV.
I was able to cast my monitor's screen to my TV but, it's not the results I want. (Nothing shows up except for my desktop background. Just undesirable results.) So using the HDMI cable, my PC won't detect it, neither will my TV.

I usually do this for media purposes like YouTube but, since I'm still currently doing this for laptop, I want to make the change and do it for my new PC. I don't think I'll be using my laptop too often anymore though.

Once you Extended your monitors, "Win+p" click "Extend", The desktop should appear on both monitors.

You can then move windows to it. and switch them to full screen.

If you would like to customize your views go to Setting --> Display --> Multiple displays. You can there arrange the position of your monitors, select the main monitor, extend task bar to all displays, etc...

Do you have a dedicated GPU in your tower or is it using only integrated GPU? Normally the iGPU is disabled if a dedicated graphics card is installed, in this case use the display connectors on the graphics card (most often the GPU ones are low down on the tower and arranged horizontally, the iGPU would be higher up and arranged vertically). Some motherboards allow for both display devices to operate concurrently, there would be a BIOS setting to enable this usually.

Ah, so that makes sense. It's working now, thanks.
