Screen Extend on 2 laptops not working

Hi, I recently tried extending my current laptop screen to the 2nd laptop using "Project this PC" option on Windows 10.
-I watched several tutorials from YouTube but still didn't work.
-It seems the laptops discovery mode on the both Laptops was failing.
-I rebooted the laptops and toggled the settings in display property, pressing Windows + P to bring the extend Screen options and this is the step where both PCs were failing to get discovered.
-Both laptops are using Windows 10. Same Wifi internet.
-I also installed separate App from Asus called "GlideX" which is specifically designed to share/extend screens on Asus or any other laptop/ mobile device but that also failed.
-In project this PC at display setting there is option to screen share if "pc is plugged in" I unchecked that also but still not available.
After taking extensive steps now I am looking forward to get feedback from professionals?

You can use a third-party "multi-monitor app" called Spacedesk to do this without difficulty. I'm running it on a couple of different machines right now. Current version is 1.0.37; find it at spacedesk | Multi Monitor App | Virtual Display Screen | Software Video Wall.

You might also wish to take a look at

including its list of Related tutorials at the end.
    - I couldn't get this 'normal' way of doing to work in my case but you might have more luck.

Do post back with your experience of using the utility Ed suggested. I might have another go myself and Ed's recommendation is enough for me to pick that one for my experiment.

    Best of luck,

I had similar issues until a thought occurred to me - I use external switches in my Hyper-V VMs which maps the wifi adaptor via the bridge link to a an IP address on a different subnode. I remove the external switch and bridge link, and now the wifi adapter was sam subnet as casting device - then it worked.

I am not saying this is specifically your issue, but it is worth checking the IP addresses to ensure you are on same subnet on both devices.

Thank you for providing the link. The App worked. Now I can extend the desktop screen or vice versa. I feel the Windows 10 OS on both laptops was not initialized driver's therefore when Spacedesk app install as server on one machine & client on 2nd machine. It worked.

I am using the public library wifi network. Most likely the same subnet wifi is on both my laptops. Regardless they're working fine for extended Desktop displays.
