Dell U2913WM cannot be set to its full resolution

I have a Dell U2913WM monitor which I know is capable of 2560x1080 because I have used it on other PCs.

I now have a new system and the U2913WM resolution sticks at 1920x1080.
The monitor is on the DVI port of Intel UHD Graphics 750.
My Dell U2718Q is on the DP port and gets its full 3840x2160,
I have the latest drivers for the monitors and the Intel UHD Graphics 750.
Any suggestions or info would be gratefully received.

To get the higher resolution you need a display port connection. If you swap the monitors over you will find the same issue. You likely will need a graphics card with 2 or more display ports.

The manual for your motherboard states that the maximum resolution of the DVI port of your motherboard is 1920X1200 @ 60Hz.

I guess that means that it isn't a dual link DVI port, which is needed for higher resolutions.

Your motherboard and monitor both have HDMI 1.4 ports. I'm not certain, but I think that would support 2560 X 1080 @ 60Hz. I suggest you try that.

In my 40 years in IT my maxim was RTFM.
I should have downloaded the manual and checked, but I made an assumption.

I always like to keep the manual that comes with the motherboard, or a printed copy, or a copy on a smart phone... in the... "reading room". That way, instead of reading the ingredients on the shampoo bottle or the can of Comet, I can peruse and re-peruse the motherboard manual.
