SERIOUSLY NEED HELP: PC Monitor Won't Display Anything?

    Hi all,

I'm in need of some serious help!

I've tried using 3 different graphics cards and I always get the same result: A black screen on my PC monitor.

The only change I made was removing the RAM sticks and re-inserting them.

The monitor is working because when the DVI cable is removed it says "The DVI cable has been removed"

    What can I do?

    Thank you.

    I would re-check cable connection.

Are you sure that system is starting at all. Any lights on motherboard?

No motherboard splash screen or BIOS messages on screen either? Are you using the correct RAM slots? Tried swapping the RAM slots?

    Hi,
Sounds like it's working but visual image is off the screen as the resolution it's set to is way to big

May have to fiddle with the monitors button settings they should be next to the power on/ off button.

How can you tell, that it's working? That message "DVI cable.... " is from monitor itself, not the PC

Did the problem occur before or after the RAM sticks were moved?
If after, then insert one stick at a time and see what happens.Check with the motherboard manual for the correct use of slots.
Your "My Computer" information is somewhat less than "useful".

Indeed. Do as told above, and... recheck that you inserted the DVI cable into the graphic card, not the motherboard slot - probably not, as the monitor detects the cable removal

How exactly is "black screen on pc monitor" a "image is off screen" issue?
