    Is there a hack to force 4k even when monitor sleeps?


    win10 pro. Intel 12600k with integrated graphics.

    my desktop pc has only one display- a 4k tv.


    when I turn off my tv overnight and put pc to sleep, and wake it the next day, all the windows are moved to the upper left area as if my display is 1080p.

    Is there a hack to force Windows to see 4k as the only option?
    is it possible to freeze windows in 4k desktop mode?

    It appears to behave like 1080p is default, even though there is only a 4k monitor attached.
    and this bug rearranges my windows. an annoyance.

    Have u tried overridden-resolution?? I know it's not needed, but may be it could force the 4k.

    Or put the pc to sleep first then turn-off the tv, then turn on the tv first before waking the pc. I'm running 4k tv + FHD mon myself and have to do steps to compensate from time to time.

    You can set your preferred resolution by overriding the current EDID of your monitor.
