Dell Monitor not displaying over USB-C to VGA dongle

    Hi all

I am wanting to revive some use from my old Dell E2009W Monitor. The monitor only support VGA and/or DVI-D.
I am currently trying to connect it to my PC, which only supports the modern display ports, HDMI and DisplayPort.

So I have a USB-C to VGA dongle plugged into the PC and VGA into a cable connected to the monitor but nothing displays.

However Windows gives a notification: Display connection might be limited, make sure the DisplayPort device connection is supported by your PC...

I am unsure how to check this, but I assume my USB-C port is not display capable?
The USB-C port standard is Rear USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C

If my assumption is correct, is there any suggestions for an alternative way to get the monitor display working?

    Cheers

Checking the specs and manual for a Gigabyte B560M DS3H AC, I see no mention that the USB-C port supports graphics.

Your RTX 3060 graphics card should support multiple monitors. You could try a Displayport to DVI adapter.

VGA is analog video, so that would have to be an active adapter. (Digital to analog conversion.) The DP to DVI is digital to digital, so it may be possible with a passive adapter.

Yes, I was thinking digital to digital makes more sense. I'll give it a try, thanks.
