Mirror desktop with Seperate Graphics Card
Hi,
My PC has two graphics card in order to be able to use both a projector and a VGA monitor and I have some difficulties setting it up.
My CPU is Intel Pentium J2900 and it has onboard Intel Graphics and a single VGA port, nothing else.
The projector requires HDMI so we installed an NVIDIA GT 1030 graphics card which has HDMI and DVI. We plugged the HDMI connection into the projector which is working fine. But I would also need to connect it to a VGA monitor.
The DVI connector is free however it is DVI-D, it has a - pin at the end of it and I'm unable to plug a DVI-to-VGA into it. It does not carry analogue VGA signals.
The PC provides graphics output in both modes but only "Extend desktop" and "Use Only Desktop 1/2" are available. There is no way to clone or mirror displays because they are powered by different graphics card, with no mux between them. This is a desktop PC.
How would I ensure a display clone with software? Please note this is a school setting with no budget to buy anything, so an active DVI-to-VGA adapter or a new monitor that has DVI, or even a new PC is completely out of the question. I need a software solution that just mirrors whatever I see on display 1 to display 2.
