Display does not turn off after non-use

Using Power Options, I set my displays to turn off after 25 minutes of non-use. But they stay on all night.

    Using Ver 21H1, build 19043.1165

Well... either a Windows Update changed your time setting for the display, or... something is possibly jiggling the mouse, and keeping the monitor... ON.
Maybe walking by the computer, air conditioner compressor coming on, severe thunder, Indy 500?

So I'm assuming through the Control Panel.

Check that the setting has flowed through to the Win 10 Settings > Systems > Power & Sleep.

Disconnect/Disable the mouse and keyboard - does it work then? If so, just disconnect/disable one at a time to test.

I guess this possibility will be greater.

A way to test would be as @idgat mentioned. Disconnect the keyboard and mouse, and see if the monitor stays off.

Turn off the auto scan option in your monitors OSD. I had this problem with my MSI Optix MAG274QRD-QD. The monitor would blank out but the LED backlight stayed on. Hope it helps.

    1) I'll try disconnecting the mouse and KB tonight,
    2) I doubt jiggling is the problem, as the problem also occurs if nobody is home and the A/C is off.
    3) How do I do that thing with the OSD?

    it happens to me too...
Its been like this since I installed Windows 10 on my new hardware June 2020..
I could not get my monitor to go on standby no matter what I set the timeout time to...
so no Windows update to date has fixed this... or any driver update etc..

You have to go in your monitors menu and look for auto scan. Turn that off if it's on.

Can't find an auto scan in my BenQ monitor's menu, but I found it has an option to turn itself off after a selectable time. I just set it to 30 mins, so it will be a while before I know.

I am about to add a second, Monoprice, monitor. We'll see how that goes.
