Broken HRD support on AMD Catalyst drivers since version 21.4.1

    Hello all!

As title suggest, I am having an issue with HDR output on my TV since 21-4-1 version came out.
    Bsa

In short words, windows HD colour cant be turned on. Thing is, previous driver version 21.3.2, 21.3.1, etc.. are working just fine.
Also, as soon i try to enable 10 bit output on my TV, it reverts to 8 bit (SDR) output mode.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers, even with DDU app, and it still wont work.

Any suggestions what should I try? This issue is making me mad, to be perfecly honest with you here.

Graphics card is AMD RX 5700 XT and TV is Sony Bravia OLED A8G.

Do you have the HDMI Advanced Format feature turned on for the port your PC is connected to?

I'm running an RX 6900XT with 21.7.2. No HDR issues, However, I am also using a UHD computer monitor rather than a TV, and a DisplayPort connection. (See My Computer, System 1, for details.) I'm also fooling around with the Windows 11 beta, but that seems irrelevant so far.

    Hey, bobkn!

Yes, I have it turned on. Its under input management on my TV settings page. Its called "Enhanced HDMI format".
I really understand what is causing this issue.. Could it be that AMD accidentally broke HRD through HDMI outpots?

I haven't tried an HDMI connection recently.

However, I'd expect that if AMD drivers broke HDR on many HDMI connections, a quick Web search would show that. I see nothing in that vein.

Sorry that I can't diagnose your problem.

I looked everywhere and found no clue how to fix this issue.
AMD really screwed up this time and I am losing and confidence I had with their GPU department.

Do you really believe that this problem is widespread? I doubt that.

Or no one complains about it. One can only guess, right?

Anyway, I have sent mail to AMD support about this issue. I know they probably wont answer, but its a long shot.

Thanks for the replies, though.. At least someone is paying attention (nobody answered anything on other forums, for the record).
