Does "Multiple display setting" change according to external monitor?

    Hi

I have a external TV connected to my PC and have the 'multiple display' setting on my PC configured to my needs (To Duplicate, Resolution etc), will replacing the TV to a completely different make/model with lower specs change the multiple display setting automatically especially will it change the setting from duplicate to extend?

    Thanks.

I don't do it but have seen where changing a monitor or type of connection can cause the video card or onboard adapter see things differently and adjust accordingly. I have seen it happen with an ASUS 27" monitor I was given and using with one of the 4 inputs on it, VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort, and the computer's Recommended in the Display settings panel.
