Microsoft 4K Wireless Adapter store says own app but I can't install?

I know it sounds dumb, but i can't find the software on my computer to up date. The wireless display is installed. When you plug this adapter into the PC, your just connecting the USB not the HDMI too? In the first pic when I try to add the device it won't add no software.

3rd photo I can't find on my computer this software or how to download it? I found this pic online.

I should say the store says I own it but I can't install it? I have tried clearing store cache, resetting the adapter etc

    Really Really annoying!

The HDMI connection is the primary one, The USB is just for power. You need both.

I find its specs confusing. MS calims that it supports HDCP 2.2, which is the minimum for copy protected 4k content. However, they also claim 4k at only 30Hz, which usually implies HDMI version 1.4, which does not include HDCP 2.2

So when installing software on computer you don't need the USB part plugged into the computer update this adapter? Or how does that work?

My computer sees my TV adapter plugged into it, they just wont connect because I haven't any software for the adapter. It says I own it but never installs to my windows 10 makes no sense to me. Just ridiculous. I usually can install this stuff in no time lol Is it on my computer and I just can't find it? I doubted. I know a little about computers, I get buy myself.

This one just boggles my mind.

At least one of us is confused.

This adapter intended to add Miracast capability to an otherwise incapable monitor or TV. Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter review: Beam your laptop or tablet screen to your TV - CNET

What would be the purpose in plugging it into a PC? It appears that it does not add Miracast capability to a PC that lacks it.

I'm saying plug it in to the pc, i thought that's how you updated it. Isn't it where the software is or is it all done on the TV wifi? When it comes up on the TV I hit the windows key + K on pc keyboard nothing happens, I can see the adapter on my pc when I look in the connect option, it goes through the motions to connect but never does.

I realize you plug it into the TV i never said you didn't. When I plug it in, this is the screen on the TV I get. So what are u trying to get at?

I just noticed written at the botom of the instructions that it's not HDCP compliant.

When I saved all my info on the computer with that diaxg in the run, it says Miracast: Available, no HDCP.

I guess I found my answer, what does this mean, I kinda of understand and can you do something to fix it?

    Get at?

There is no purpose in plugging it into the PC, as far as I can see. (I don't own any such device, and so far, I haven't tried to cast my laptop's screen to my TV.)

I see no mention that it is capable of adding Miracast to a PC that lacks it. Miracast uses WiFi. I have no idea whether that means that every PC that is WiFi capable supports it.

If your PC (laptop, usually) is Miracast capable, I doubt that any apps are required. The app is supposed to offer some additional settings, though. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/microsoft-wireless-display-adapter/9wzdncrfjbb1?activetab=pivotverviewtab

Do you see the app in your Start Menu list?

I'm still fairly new with this miracast stuff or what ever it is, I can get confused, sometimes you just don't get it even if it's easy, i'm trying lol

When i reboot the adapter then plug it into the TV, that Microsoft black screen with logo comes up, then this screen comes up. The TV is a 55" Samsung with WiFi etc
