Thanks for partially filling in your specs - I'd still like to see the PUBLISHED Speccy.

I'd also like to to a screen shot of your display adpater
Navigate to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display\Screen Resolution
    Press advanced settings
    on the adapter tab
    press list all modes

I missed on bit out in my rant, the lady at HP Customer (lack of) Service told "You've upgraded to Windows 10, we never said it was upgradable when you purchased it"
Ok, I get it, I'm not happy all the time with HP either.

Try to focus on the issue you want to solve ... if you want to try and solve it on TenForums.

If it can be solved ... if it is an issue.

By the way, your specs say Win10 - is that correct?

My HP PC is 20 months old and they have decided not to provide the drivers for the graphic card (which I find is over 5 years old) for Windows 10. I've been in touch with their customer service, after being passed around for hours on end, and been told "Your PC is 20 months old, we are selling new graphics cards that will work with Windows 10, we are not providing drivers for your existing graphics card because, that way we sell more.

    What an attitude !
The card is an AMD product and I would think the best place to look for new drivers is AMD and not HP. And I suspect that if the card is 5 years old model that AMD might not support the drivers anymore.

Here's the deal, and then I'll leave you to your own misery.

HP makes budget model machines. The components are not very good in the budget machines and that keeps the price down.

The HD7450 is not a very good graphics card
PassMark - Radeon HD 7450 - Price performance comparison
It's at the bottom of every comparison. Don't expect a Corvair to be a Corvette

It is up to the person buying the equipment to determine how good it is - sales people will sell you anything.

I've asked for some technical feedback and got very little.

None of this has anything to do with Windows 10.
It is the hardware in the box and the AMD drivers. Lining it up isn't that hard, but don't expect Windows 10 to fix AMD drivers - they just test what AMD sends them and MS provides the delivery mechanism.

If the driver doesn't work to the device specifications, you could try uninstalling the driver in Dev Mgr - take it all the way back to the base MS driver, then run Windows Update manually and let it supply the driver. That's about all you can really do, there is no magic bullet to make the device better other than buying a better card.

    Good luck.

Thanks, I can't see what's down on the list of valid modes, but did you try moving the pointer on the left up to 1600 x 900?
It might even go up to 1600 x 1200 - not sure. I think that slider offers me modes not supported and then I get a bad screen or no screen if I try.

I've lost the will to live now, I'm off to watch TV

P.S. I actually use my PC to produce documents, emails etc, not to learn how to rebuild it. I'm now at the limit of my technical knowledge !

    Good Night
