Perspective is a funny thing. A few weeks ago, I paid some veterinarian bills totaling $6k (US). All for nought; the dog had to be put down two days ago.

I have no wife to prevent me from wasting funds on sick little dogs, though. Or hideously overpriced graphics cards.

Same here. After she made me return the card.

I bet she who must be obeyed would not bat an eyelid if she spent £1800 on a handbag.

I don't know how much that is in US dollars but I would probably pack her bag and I don't mean handbag.

Yeah, but you forget that in the real world, a fancy handbag may be important, but no one at that toff cocktail party knows what GPU you have in your rig.

I doubt that most American women own £1800 (roughly $2.5k) handbags. There are some who do Hermès at over $10k.

We aren't all billionaires over here, but our PC component prices are lower than in the UK (even disregarding the VAT).

And misogyny is getting to be out of style here, even as a joke.

How about "nice"? That's been around for quite a bit longer.
