    Dual Monitor Setup Doesn't Work

I am trying to set up dual monitors, and I couldn't plug them in individually because one of my HDMI ports does not work, I think its the one connected to my motherboard, so I got an HDMI extender that lets you connect to HDMI cables to one port, and now the other monitor doesnt count as a seperate monitor. Is there any way to make my computer detect the second monitor or since they are both connected to one HDMI it will not count as a new one no matter what? In that event, how do I make the other HDMI port work?

If you're using a discrete graphics card (the GTX 1060), the onboard graphics may be disabled.

If your GTX 1060 has only one HDMI port, it probably also has a DP (DisplayPort). You could use a DP to HDMI adapter. (I think that's a relatively cheap, passive adapter.) Or a DP cable, if one of the monitors supports that.

I've never tried to connect two HDMI monitors to a single port (with a splitter), but I think it's a bad idea.
