I don't think I'm going for the chipsets update. Everything I'm reading refers to Radeon graphics, and I just got rid of that cra err, umm, junk and don't want any more of it.

Besides, no matter how hard I try, I cannot find which chipset is in this computer!

I just went back to HP and got run into a circle again. My password isn't recognized and when I try to reset it, nothing happens.

So, I'm about done with HP.
My motherboard has different chipset drivers for APU & Non APU CPU's see picture below.

You want to uninstall all AMD software then install the one without APU in the description if you can find it as the is no GPU driver needed as it is only supported by the chipset driver.

It should not be hard to find out what chipset you have as there are plenty of programs which list your specs for you.

Here is the info on the Chipset description

This link will send you to the AMD auto detect chipset tool & hope it works ?

Thank you, Stormy. I was almost there, but not quite. I have it downloaded and saved now, so I should just close my eyes and start punching buttons.

Thanks, RoadBlaster. I've been all around what you showed me, and even typed in some of the same search text!

I'm pretty sure the link @stormy13 supplied is the one I want; the chipset drivers were released June 2. Crossing hair, fingers, toes, legs, arms, and anything else that will cross, eyes . . .

I done went and did the deed! I need to start a couple or three times to be sure everything's hunky dory! Yeah, yeah, I know I'm being a Nervous Nelly, but that's who I am.

I'm going to say a great big "Thank You" to everyone who held my hand on this journey. I just kicked Nervous Nelly off the keyboard and Wynona is back.

    No Drivers for AMD-amd-chipset-drivers.png

While the chipset stuff was going on, I saw "one click overclock"! Hmmmmmmmmm, am I ready for that? Or is it fast enough with the upgraded processor?

Ryzen CPUs don't overclock that much. It's really not worth the cost of more... heat.
They are pretty much, already cranked up as high as they go.

Lastly, it's not a really good idea to overclock on an HP motherboard and power supply.
You're pretty much at the limit of your power supply, now.

I agree, Ghot. Not worth the heat it would cost. Besides, it's fast enough now.

I have a couple power supplies in the closet; not sure I want to tackle that yet, but I really do need to. I also need to find a more powerful heat sink.

Gotta run . . . need to hook up the Intel desktop at the Sr. Center so I can give technical assistance to the genealogy teacher and then teach Windows 10 this afternoon.

Thanks again for all the help.
