Intel G6400 - black screen only

    Hi!
I bought a new desktop pc with an Intel G6400 cpu and an asrock mobo and 8g ddr4 ram.
The main problem is, when I power on the pc there is only black screen.
No matter if I connect through the crt, dvi or hdmi connector.

Then I tried an old dell lcd monitor and only with that only one monitor I can get a screen.

The whole installation of win10 went perfectly.
I tried also to switch several cables but with no success.

And still no way to activate the pc on other monitor. Just on that old dell one.

I can't see any reasonable option in the bios.

So I have no clue what to try or what cos this problem.

Any idea what could cos this black screen problem?

    Thanks

    What Asrock motherboard?

What's a "CRT" connector? Do you mean VGA (15 pin D sub)?

What interface did you use to the "old Dell LCD monitor"?

    Thanks for the quick replay.
    The mobo is: Asrock H470M-HDV
By the crt connector I mean the 15pin D sub connector.

On the old dell monitor I use the 15pin D sub connector.
The model of the old dell monitor is:
    Dell 1905FPt

Determine what CPU/GPU capabilities are in use and what is needed for the monitor you want to use.

The older LCD Dell 1905FPt monitor works fine.
--- It has a max resolution of 1280 x 1024 with 1 VGA port 1 DVI port from what I've read.

Are you looking for FHD, 2K, 3K or 4K resolutions for the monitor you want to use?

The have an older LCD Dell monitor tucked away in my "spare parts" closet that I used once a few years ago in a similar situation of a black screen on a monitor that was in use but the older LCD Dell monitor brought the system up to life.
--- Had my friend purchase an applicable graphics card and all was well with the newer monitor he wanted to use.

I don't look for any fancy resolutions like FHD, 2-3-4K etc.
I have 3 more much newer monitors from Samsung, HP aroun 1-1.5year old but they wont show the picture.
Just this old almost 10 or maybe more years old monitor.
    Thats a nonsense situation.
The pc comes with FreeDos but ni way to get the command prompt showing up on the new monitors, the bios screen is also not shiwing up... just black screen.
    This is mind blowing.

I mean, a new pc from yesterday should handle new monitors. But maybe have trouble with old ones.

"the bios screen is also not shiwing up... just black screen."
--- It doesn't appear to be an issue on the older LCD Dell 1905FPt monitor.

" a new pc from yesterday should handle new monitors"
    --- That should be true.

It's time to contact the vendor
--- Take the "new pc from yesterday" back to the vendor or order an RMA.

    Thank you for your replay.
So, you also think does something is bad on this pc and it is not a normal behaviour.

    Thanks for the additional information.

The G6400 includes UHD Graphics 610. Intel(R) Pentium(R) Gold G6400 Processor (4M Cache, 4.00 GHz) Looks like it doesn't support UHD (3840 X 2160) at 60 Hz over an HDMI connection, as it's HDMI 1.4. However, it will over DisplayPort. You're not going for that resolution anyway, right?

Looking at the manual, the problem may be as simple as having the primary graphics set to VGA in the BIOS. (That may be the default.) There's not a lot of detail about that in the manual, though. I wonder how you're supposed to set things up without access to a VGA monitor?

My guess is that there is no defect in the hardware. Changing the BIOS setting may fix things.

What are the recommended resolutions for each one of your monitors?

When you purchased the PC, were you informed of anything similar to bobkn's information in post #8?

In your post #7 "you also think does something is bad on this pc and it is not a normal behaviour."
--- I suspected that as I've seen so many times over the years when a new PC doesn't perform naturally "out of the box", typically it's time to contact the vendor.
--- With that said, normal behavior should be expected whether purchasing anything new, PC, automobile or anything else of importance.

There are times when someone is advanced enough to know what they can do to address what needs to be done and in that case, that's fine.
