HP EliteDesk 705 G5 - Poor GPU Performance

Bought new from Technoworld and first setup on 12th January 2021 running Windows 10 Pro v21H1, Build 19043.985.

It has an AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 3400GE CPU with integrated Radeon Vega 11 graphics and Windows reports “The best drivers are already installed” when I check for driver updates. Also, HP Support Assistant reports that all drivers are up to date.

I ran UserBenchmark test and the ‘Graphics’ is showing to have ‘A very low 3D score’, ‘Performing way below expectations’ and ‘Very poor’ at only 10.5%.

I am not interested in overclocking and don’t want to invalidate my 5-year guarantee by tweaking. Maybe it is because it is a Mini-PC and perpormance is limited to reduce heat ouput? Just a guess.

I don’t do gaming so don’t need 3D graphics and the PC is fast enough for what I do but: -
Q1 - Does this sound like a GPU fault?
Q2 - Is 3D graphics is a known weakness for this GPU?

    Thanks

Q1 - No, there is no fault.
Q2 - No, just not relevant as a non gamer.

You do need 3D graphics as Windows uses a few of the basic 3D features.

In fact it is showing things working correctly. All you really need is the knowledge that you are the same as everyone else with similar hardware. This is the vertical black lines grouping.

You are within those both for the CPU and Integrated Graphics.

You are good to go, nothing is wrong.

The "expectations" is just rude nonsense, made up by some geeky gamer with £5,000 worth of Graphics hardware.

UserBenchmark: AMD RX Vega 11 (Ryzen iGPU) vs Nvidia RTX 2060S (Super)

If the 100% performance basis is an RTX 2060 Super, the Vega 11 graphics are poor for 3D performance.

Integrated graphics are not known for having good gaming performance. They are adequate for 2D applications.

The "£5,000" thing is a bit of hyperbole. The gamer with deep pockets would have had two RTX 2080 ti cards in SLI, rather than a single 2060 Super, when the 200 series was new.

@Helmut and @bobkn - Thanks for the comforting replies. I knew when I bought it that it wasn't a gaming machine and did not expect fast 3D performance. What concerned me was the emotive statements ‘A very low 3D score’, ‘Performing way below expectations’ and ‘Very poor’ which made me think that there might be a fault.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest. I'll call this 'Solved' now.
