Intel Graphics Command Center not working properly !

    Hi guys

Just installed Windows 10 and I'm trying to create a custom resolution across my two TV monitors. I understand the way to do this now is the Intel command center however my issue is whenever I open the app and try to change the resolution, let alone create a custom one, there are no other resolutions in the drop down list to even change to and if I try to create a custom one it just comes up with error. In fact pretty much anything I try to do on the app it just comes up with error. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this ?

    Thanks

Hi and welcome to the site
It would be of considerable help if you were to tell us some more detail of your computer - rather than simply
    OS: Windows 10
    on My Computer.

Particularly relevant is the processor in use which is presumably providing the Intel graphics

when we know if your intel graphics and its driver meet the requirements shown to add resolutions on the Intel Cmd Centre we will be able to make progress

    Hi thanks for the reply

    I am using:

    Intel core 2 duo CPU E6550 2.33GHz
    2GB RAM
    64 bit
Intel Q35 express chipset family graphics card

I used to be able to create custom resolutions fine back when using Vista but struggling on this OS.

    Hope this is enough info

    Thanks

you cannot do it on the Q35 graphics
    obsolete
you will not even run 10 on that system as it should run
I do not mean it will not run of a fashion but you are trying to use very outdated hardware
Plus which the idea you can run 64bit windows on 2GB ram is fallacy as your graphics are using ram, so the ram available for windows is even less than the 2GB

The Q35 chipset graphics are not a card simply integrated graphics in the chipset
Support for Graphics Drivers for Intel(R) Q35 Express Chipset

obsolete - as shown on the link
Last OS for drivers Windows 7
therefore you will be using the default WDDM driver and probably not even the one really required for 1o as it is not available for those graphics.

    Processor
    Obsolete introduced 2007
    Intel(R) Core™2 Duo Processor E6550 (4M Cache, 2.33 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB) Product Specifications

Again I regret to inform you that it does not meet the demands of 10 to run it successfully

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...r-requirements

I am really sorry but it is a waste of your time and mine to try and get this working
You cannot expect windows 10 to work on such outdated hardware with such limited ram and then expect to get custom resolutions with those graphics on two monitors

I am sorry I cannot assist

    However good luck with it

Okay so I'm assuming I'll have to downgrade my os to get it to work again. Thanks anyway.

    Cheers
You MAY get it working with a tweak of some manner I really cannot say
but any standard approach is unlikely to succeed

Whether or not you consider that 10 running as it is now is better than what you had by way of the OS - albeit with the lack of custom display resolution is a matter for you of course.

Depending on the motherboard - ram capacity you would benefit greatly from more ram
Again however you have to consider if it is worthwhile spending money on the system.
I think you will find max supported ram will be 4GB - DDR2 but you will have to check on the board link
An option maybe a graphics card as against the chipset graphics

Okay so question ? If I added some more ram would I then be able to create custom resolutions ? Or would I have to put a new graphics card in ? Also I realise it's old but it's only for my shed so not really interested in buying a really good one at the moment.

No the ram would not change the graphics situation
If it is only for the shed perhaps it does not matter that you cannot set different resolutions

So I'd need to replace the graphics card ? Are there any you could recommend would work for my syst ? Well I am trying to do it because i spread the image across two screens to watch movies in there. Sort of man cave thing.

I wouldnt need custom resolutions but if I play a video in VLC player in wall mode it has big black bars at the edges. This wouldn't be a problem if I could use another player but every other player I've tried as soon as I stretch the image to a certain size it just freezes and crashes.
