For Anyone With A Relatively New LG pc Monitor, Please

    Hello again.

Thought it best to send two msgs, rather than combine them.

    Have a new 27" 4K LG Monitor.

To adjust all of its settings, it has that small joystick control under the bezel.

It works fine, you can call up all of the setting options, and they do appear.

    But-

I cannot seem to actually change of select them.
The Mouse and cursor will not apparently go into the right hand most area whee the settings appear.

e.g., the brightness slider: How do I adjust it ? The Mouse/cursor won't go there.

And the idiotic msg that keeps coming up on startup to be sure to use only the cables that came with the Monitor.
To eliminate it showing, there seems to be very small arrows.

Again, nothing I do, including the the Mouse, or the arrows on the keyboard works.
You just cannot put the cursor into the message block, to perhaps select these arrows.

What, as usual, am I doing incorrectly ?

The Monitor is great, but whoever did the software for it should be fired.
Should I check for new software revisions, perhaps ?
    If so, how/where please ?

    Thanks, really appreciate the help,
    Bob

The menus are a Top Level OSD, they won't interact with the mouse.
You perform all navigation with the Joystick.

    Hi again,

    Thanks for reply.

My problem is not navigating to some parameter, it's being able to
    adjust it once there.

Are you saying you don't use the Mouse/Cursor to slide a Slider, e.g. ?

Might you please be a bit more specific on how I go about this.

I use the joystick as I wrote to get to the parameter I want to adjust.
    Then what ?

Would really be appreciative for a "how-to". A bit of an old-age problem also, I think.

    Thanks,
    Bob

As Edwin said the OSD is not part of the OS.

The mouse pointer is a interface control on the OS.

When you press the joystick the menu appears, you then press again to select whatever is selected, you move it left right to adjust things like brightness and contrast, after adjusting you press it to apply the setting. Finally the up/down movement is to move up and down in the menu.

    I hope this helps.

For a video guide I would have to record on my phone, not ideal.

Middle press Joystick to bring up Menu...,
    tilt right for Settings...,
tilt up or down for which setting..., in this case Quick Settings/Brightness...,
tilt right to highlight Brightness..., middle click to select...,
    right or left to adjust...,
    middle click to save...,
UI will auto-disappear after 15 seconds.

    Hi,

Yes, that did it. All set with this now.

Hate to appear so dumb with this "stuff," but will blame it on old age now.
A great excuse for most anything, I've found.

If you get a minute, might you look at my other previous Post re the Monitor Shutoff and pc Sleep problems I've
been having. Probably something simple again, but don't see how.

screen seems to "re-cycle," for any Screen Shutoff, and/or Sleep mode I set.

Again, thanks for help; really most appreciated.
