Graphics Card Crashing? Losing all video signal while gaming.

For a split second before crashing, i think i saw an error along the lines of my drivers has crashed but recovered or something as well.

Please, avoid the latest Geforce driver 466.63, it's unstable.- hangs and crashes. Some people also got BSODs after updating. If you already updated, downgrade to 466.47.

My current driver version is 466.27, I've tried a few dozen different driver versions and nothing has fixed it, so i'm assuming it isn't driver related, however ill update it yet again.

I'm getting a few Kernal-Power critical events, however im assuming that's due to me hitting the restart button. "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." These are the only critical events.

Poked around even more and was unable to find anything regarding my graphics card driver.

The highlighted row in the image below is the first event after a reboot, nothing below that points towards a crash of any sort.

EDIT: All i want to do is successfully troubleshoot. I'm willing to go out and buy a new GPU today however i don't want to start throwing money at parts when it won't fix it.

That's a classic symptom of an unstable GPU core overclock. (not VRAM) It often will appear when running Unigine or a game that gives a GPU core workout, including GTA V at 1440p.

I have also had an incident of a symptom like the above, where I suspected the HDMI cable.

What power output PSU do you have? The issue could be the GPU is drawing more current than the PSU can supply. The problem could be a fault with the PSU or the PSU has too low a power rating.

725w. Was running this combination for around 2 years before this issue started happening. Today i tried using evga precision to set my gpu power to 40% and even turned up the fans to 100%, still crashing. Spent a fair amount of time cleaning the inside of the case too and getting rid of the dust.

At the point where im going to start throwing money at it. First step would be to reinstall the OS, then new PSU, and then would do the GPU.

Can you put the GPU in another PC to check if the GPU has a hardware fault?

It IS clear. There will always be some bug reports from users, but in this case there's a very narrow spectrum of reported problems. I've personally never had issues with display driver, until now. (sorry for offtopic)

Maybe. I didn't try to collect statistics.

Are either stable enough?

Bad contact of display card could cause the situation possibly.

Please you reseat display card and tried again.
