You can change it in the Windows registry and did you try to change it .
I spent 3 months last year, trying EVERYthing.
The two things I mentioned above, worked best.
The 3rd party program: Persistent Windows, which I eventually removed when I decided to just put the monitor to sleep instead.
This is a problem with how video card BIOSes handle display port and HDMI.
Never had this issue with DVI.
Unfortunately, my RTX 2070 doesn't have DVI. :/

    If yours does... use DVI.

I do not have HDMI, but I have inputs DisplayPort and DVI. I'm using the input DisplayPort. I'll try to use the DVI and see whether it will be the same. What best do you prefer to solve this problem for me.

I told you. Switch to DVI. That problem only exists on DP or HDMI, it doesn't occur on DVI.

I just assumed you didn't have the option for DVI. You didn't fill out your computer specs, so I couldn't check.

You're right, this problem does not occur when you connect DVI. And how best to resolve this problem when I use DP or HDMI. What solution to this problem is the best.

There is NO perfect solution. The video card companies made a mistake.
There's no reason NOT to use DVI. Just be happy your video card HAS DVI.

The only way they can really fix this problem is to upgrade the video card BIOSes.

I have an old graphics card. Officially, I prefer to use the DP cable for my computer (I know the problem will come back) for a simple reason. I have sound in the monitor speakers and so I have to connect the speakers to the computer. That's why I asked what the best solution to this problem was.

If you really CAN'T use DVI, then set the monitor to sleep after so many minutes, like I eventually did.
I leave my comp ON 24/7. When I am going somewhere, I would just turn the monitor OFF.

But... like you noticed, that resizes the windows. It did the same for me on ANY connector BUT... DVI.
So I just decided after trying everything else... to let the monitor sleep instead of turning it OFF.
    That works.

How about the program Persistent Windows and whether you tried to change the registry in Windows.

Yes. I tried to change the registry. Those articles are old my friend.. they've been around for a while.
And I love tweaking the registry. Like I said earlier... I spent 3 months working on the exact same problem.

Persistent Windows works. The reason I didn't like it, is that it has to run... always.

I understand and thank you for your answer. And whether the program Persistent Windows will completely solve this problem.
