Antialiasing - MSAA Not Working In Any Games/Distance Shimmering

Hello, I've been getting this annoying issue on 3 of my Windows 10 systems lately...

2 are desktops and 1 is a gaming laptop... Area 51m to be exact with RTX 2070...

I can't figure out why the antialiasing looks so terrible now these days? Did NVIDIA do something or is this due to Windows 10? There's a lot of shimmering in the distance in all my video games. MSAA isn't working either. I've tried reinstalling the OS, reinstalling drivers, reseating graphics cards, swapping RAM sticks, changing settings... etc... I can't figure it out, it's so annoying!

The 3 systems are as follows:

    Windows 10 20H2 19042.789
    Maximus XII Formula/Area 51m R1/Z370F
    10900K/9700K/8700K
    GTX1080Ti/RTX2070/GTX1060
    32GB DDR4/16GB DRR4/16GB DDR4

I've spoken about this issue with other people in regards to other games and they said they see the same problem so luckily it's not just me. I read that MSAA is being phased out by Windows 10 here:
    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce...ndows-10-1703/

If that's true, that's really infuriating since a lot of older titles rely on MSAA.

Has anyone found a fix yet? Here's a video someone else posted showcasing the problem:

    Thanks in advance.

MSAA (Multi Sample Anti-Aliasing) is implemented in the respective Graphics Card Nvidia/AMD and their drivers.

" I've tried reinstalling the OS, reinstalling drivers, reseating graphics cards, swapping RAM sticks, changing settings... etc... ".

None of that will do anything for MSAA.

Best to start at the basics with no Anti-Aliasing at all, and only add a minimal amount which saves your processing power for other things and you are less likely to have odd effects like shimmering.
You usually have a choice of AA methods in games. I rarely ever have MSAA selected, favouring the other methods requiring less processing.

".... since a lot of older titles rely on MSAA."
I have a majority of old titles and that is just not true.

That video shows absolutely nothing of use, certainly does not 'prove' MSAA or indeed any Anti-Aliasing is not working.
It seems to point out near horizontal lines in joining tiles and there is is probably another effect added in, Maybe texture filtering or something like that.
They also change resolution and the Anti-Aliasing method in random ways.

You have to read up on what the various methods of Anti-Aliasing methods are, and how this relates to edges at various angles. All rather heavyweight reading, but to understand that is what you have to do.

Could be a longshot, but from the nv forum post i see mention of AA not working with fso enabled, have you tried disabling fso on affected games.
