Icons keep jumping back and forth in a dual monitor setup

My desktop icons just keep jumping from one monitor to other either when I reboot as well when I computer backup from blank screen mode. I tried to unchecked auto-arrange and auto-organize and also disabled allow theme to change desktop icons. Nothing seems to have any effect. It started to happen after I upgrade the motherboard and CPU of my computer a few weeks ago. Ideas?

This only happens when video output switch to one screen only or resolution change to a lower one so extra icons unfit in that screen squeeze to the other .

It is not a mother board issue but rather either a software one that lowers resolution of one screen once it loads (Most likely a game behavior) , or some power saving feature turn off one monitor .

The only work arounds are to either make sure each screen are not that filled with icons so when it lowers resolution it doesn't squeeze extra icons off or follow this link and download the suggested tool that locks desktop icons in place with no 100% guarantee 3 Ways to Lock Desktop Icons in Place - wikiHow

No way it's full of icons. There is PLENTY of space. LoL. Anyway, I will take a look on this tool. Thanks!

Weirdly it seems that my Windows has settled down by itself. Nevertheless I realized that my dual monitors arrange was like [2][1] so I inverted them physically and changed the arrangement to [1][2] (that seems to be the correct to me). Since then about one week ago the icons stopped to jump around.

Let's see how much time it will last.
