    How to turn off Samsung monitor?

    Got this monitor very recently. I was able to turn it off but now... i cannot.

    When i power off my laptop, i turn off my other monitor... but this new monitor... it shows display port in the top left... then i believe the screen goes dark. But the power button seems to keep flashing blue? On the back of the monitor, there is a power button but its very confusing. Click on it few times and it goes from display port to hdmi to hdmi two etc... but it then gets you to where you can i power off the monitor. But how do you do that? Because last night i clicked on that button on the back of my monitor... then the blue flashing light on the front of the monitor stop flashing... just stayed solid blue. Is there an up/down on the power button or something?

    Can someone tell me what is the proper way to turn off this monitor? Is it suppose to blink blue... or be solid blue... or have no color when turned off?

    As of now, my monitor shows a black screen like its turned off but blue light flashing? Last night i was able to make that flashing blue blinking into solid blue and i figured okay its turned off.

    Under normal circumstances, with most modern monitors, when you power down a machine, all displays should go into Standby mode, (orange indicator);

    you should't have to fiddle with physical power buttons.

    I have a similar Samsung monitor and when I turn my computer off it starts to flash blue signifying that it is in standby mode. For the monitor to be completely off, there should be no blue light at all.

    On the back of my monitor, there is a little joystick on the right hand bottom side of the back. Pressing that in will pop up a menu. Move the joystick button downward and press in to get the monitor to turn off. Or turn on again.

    I normally never turn my monitor off as I use a master kill switch on a UPS power bar to keep my system isolated form the mains when I am not using it. We get a lot of power surges where I live so I don't like the PC hooked up to power when it is not being used. When I start the PC from the master switch, my monitor is already in standby mode.
