Resume from hibernate uses wrong monitor

    Windows 20H2.

    Dell M6800 laptop.

I have a monitor in my desk that's plugged into the Display Port outlet on my docking station.

If I boot the laptop the monitor on the desk is selected as the main monitor.

If I hibernate and resume the laptop screen is selected and I need to open up the lappie and select the desk monitor using Fn/F8

Update: Installing 426.78-quadro-desktop-notebook-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql which appears to be the latest driver made no difference.

How is your docking station connected to laptop? And what else is connected to docking port and laptop?

This has to be about the wakening order and registering of devices at startup procedure. Try to disable fast startup. You can still have the Hibernation on. Normally this shouldn't affect waking from hibernation, but worth a try.

Docking station connects to multi-way connector in the base of the laptop.

Fast startup got turned off ages ago. So unfortunately that's not the problem

    Thanks

    Hello @perdrix,

    Have a look at these . . .

    > Add or Remove Hibernate after from Power Options in Windows
    > Change Power Plan Settings in Windows 10
    > Enable or Disable Hibernate in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

David, check in BIOS if switchable graphics is enabled, and set to docking port. You are probably more familiar with BIOS settings. I can only see this in M6800 manual.

Also, are there any docking station drivers? Can you select other display outputs on the docking station?
