Do I need a new 4K graphics card for a 4K monitor?

1 - 3840x2160 at 30Hz or 4096x2160 at 24Hz supported over HDMI. 4096x2160 (including 3840x2160) at 60Hz supported over Displayport. Support for 4k tiled MST displays requires 326.19 driver or later.

To add a little detail to the post from "NavyLCDR", it looks like the GTX 760's HDMI support is limited to version 1.4. If you want 4k/60Hz, you'd need to use DisplayPort.

You didn't mention HDR. Do you want that? I'm not certain, but I think that you'd need a card no older than the GTX 900 series, and that might require that the card have updated firmware. I am running a 4k/HDR monitor of a 900 series GPU, and HDR seems to be available only over its DisplayPort.

If you felt the need to upgrade the graphics card, an nVidia GT 1030 would probably be adequate.

Thanks, is there any advantage to using HDMI 2.0 instead of DisplayPort 1.4 if I have both ports available on the 4K monitor? Or will I get an equal experience?

As far as I know, there'd be no difference.
