Custom Display Scaling for multi monitor setup?

Just picked up an HP Omen 27i monitor - IPS - 2560x1440 - 165Hz) to use as my main monitor. I'm using my previous monitor (Asus VG248 - TN - 1920x1080 - 144Hz) as my second monitor.

Is there any way to set the Custom scaling option in Windows for my HP Omen (first monitor) to 120 and keep my Asus VG248 (second monitor) to 100? If I do that the custom scaling spans across both monitors. However if I set the scaling to an option in the drop-down box (125%, 150%,175%, 200%, 225%) it works properly.

I'd like to set a lesser value than 125 for the HP Omen since that value is too large for my liking.

If you have a two monitor setup then on this particular window you captured there should be a box on top that looks like this one :

(Only with white background since I use windows dark theme)

Clicking one of the monitors allows you to edit Scale & Layout for which independently .

Thanks for the reply. However that does not work if you choose custom scaling. The custom scaling will apply to all monitors. Only the preset options of (100,125, 150, 175, 200, 225) work correctly per monitor. I've been doing some research and it seems to be an issue for many people.

It even says this in the Advanced scaling settings. I was hoping for some kind of workaround.

Well there are some good news and some bad news , the good news is that theoretically it is possible via registry according to Microsoft MSDN .

    The key : Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
    Contains 2 values :

    1) Win8DpiScaling which is a flag property where 1 = enable custom scaling and 0 = disable custom scaling
    2) LogPixels carrying the custom scale value (-5 for a vague reason) which if for example you want to set it to 135 you need to let it be 140 (Decimal not Hex)

Now what happens next is you need to delete the value LogPixels then recreate it under both monitors subkeys to the key : Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\PerMonitorSettings then sign out of windows then sign back in .

The bad news is , I tried that and it did not work , so apparently whatever dll in windows that handles this was modified to neglect such change in registry and act on custom scaling as a unified value for all plugged monitors .

So bottom line it wont work , yet you may try it on your end though .

The details on this are appreciated nIGHTmAYOR. Maybe MS can add more options to the drop-down list in the future but I'm not holding my breath.

In the meantime, and after a few days, I'm sort of getting use to the 2560x1440 resolution on the 27 inch monitor.
