Same cable, Same drivers/software, same OS , but cant get 75hz no more

Leading on from my other issue posted in other sub forum.

This issue is regarding not being able to select 75hz anymore and being stuck to 60hz.

Up until 2 weeks ago I had been running on my Ryzen 2200g APU using the Vegas integrated graphics.

My 75hz monitor was hooked up to the mobo with a DVI (pc) to HDMI (monitor) cable and as soon as it was attached recognised and set my resolution to 1080p : 75hz.

I decided to get the Rx580 for an upgrade and simply unplugged the DVI from the mobo and plugged it into the DVI output in the graphics card.... and was limited to 60hz.

This is the same monitor, same cable and same set up bar moving from the mobo output to the gfx card output!!

Since then I've did the usual ddu driver reinstall... upgrades/downgrades etc.... no difference.

highest listed hz is 60hz under display modes available.... if I try to make a customer resolution it wont allow me telling me my monitor doesn't support 75hz....

Tips or advice to resolve this would be really appreciated thanks.

The obvious suggestion is to try an HDMI to HDMI cable, as your RX580 must have HDMI outputs. I believe that they are HDMI 2.0. I think HDMI 2.0 will support 1080p at 75Hz, but my experience with it is limited to TV.

My personal choice is display port, but, as you don't mention your monitor, I have no idea whether it supports that.

How have you been using DDU? These instructions come from the RX580 community forums.
    1) Download the correct AMD Full Set of drivers from AMD Support. Make sure your Windows is fully updated via Windows Update.
Windows Must be fully updated because the latest AMD Drivers requires all the latest "Optional" and "Recommended" updates to be installed.

    2) Use Windows Uninstall to uninstall current AMD driver and software and disconnect the internet from your computer.
Then use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode.
This will eliminate all traces of the AMD driver and software from your computer.

Delete C: \ AMD folder from the Root Directory. Reboot

    3) Go to Device Manager and click "Display Adapter" and make sure you are on the MS Basic Display Adapter.
If not, uninstall the AMD driver using Properties.

    4) Try reinstalling the AMD FULL SET OF DRIVERS that you have downloaded manually. Make sure you disable the Internet to prevent Windows from installing a newer version.
So it has been mentioned to disable any anti-virus programs before installing AMD Drivers.

    5) If the new AMD drivers installs and works correctly, delete again the C: \ AMD folder from the root directory. To save space on the HDD.

    6) Enable both the Internet and Anti-Virus program (if applicable).

    7) Go back to Device Manager and check your GPU card driver is working and identified correctly.

If you still have the issue maybe there is an answer on Welcome | Community from someone who had the same issue, in case no one here can help.

Ddu everytime. fresh installed drivers with and without software, fresh installed Windows, installed monitor drivers etc you name it I've tried it.

Nothing wrong with Installations as can get 75 Hz over HDMI to HDMi it's purely the sci to hdmi that's no longer working since switching from Integrated to dedicated.

Tried hdmi long time ago and it works but isn't an option as need it for my 4k@ 60hz TV.

This is what is annoying the crap out of me the rx580 is obv getting correct info over hdmi but when I'm using the DVI to hdmi it isn't.

Yet the 2200g was getting correct info over both HDMI and DVI... Why is the rx580 being so contrary ?

I would check the BIOS. Sometimes there's a setting for PEG (PCI-E Graphics), and for IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor).
I have no idea if this would affect refresh rate, but ya never know.

Yeah I've been in there as I had to disable the igpu so apu was using only CPU when I installed my dgpu.

It is a head scratched and doesn't make sense logically how can the exact same set up not produce the same result the only differing part is the hardware change from igpu to a dgpu and again it's not like 75hz is off that table as it's achievable via HDMI this gfx card must've decided it isn't going to output 75hz via it's DVI output or something lol

Only other thing I can think of is check the monitor itself. Like the OSD controls. ??

Yeah had a good look it's limited and tbh windows used to auto set to 75hz based off of the information it was recieving from the igpu.

Honestly I've I hook up the monitor right now via HDMI to my dgpu it will auto set to 1080p 75hz and moment I put the DVI to hdmi back on it will default to 60hz.

    Bangs head off wall*

Well, then I guess you need to use HDMI or Display Port cable.
