Sick and tired of night light mode

    Hello everyone,

I know this has been discussed here, still searching for the answer - is this a bug or I miss something?

So, how do I make Night Light mode working properly? It is scheduled Sunset - Sunrise but seems like it's turning on and off whenever it decides... I have updated the Intel HD Graphics 620 with the latest driver via WU, still no joy?

    Every answer is appreciated,
    Ivan

    Hello Ivan,

If you don't find a solution, disable it and try this: f.lux: software to make your life better
I've been using it for years, so haven't tried NL myself because f.lux works so well on multiple PCs for me.

Thanks @steve108, I will have a look, anyway clean install is followed by the 20H2, but honestly prefer not to have any 3rd party programs and especially for such a small feature.

    Thank you anyway!

I use it, but was not aware it can be scheduled for sunset to sunrise.

I wanted to have it on 24 hours a day, but ran into problems. I can't recall the details.

So, I have it scheduled to run 23 hours and 45 minutes a day and that is working OK.

Maybe I will try also at fixed time, thanks for the idea, ignatzatsonic.

I understand and starting using it before NL came about.

Was going to try NL now it it wants location service to be on - which I'm not willing to do. Any way around that?

With f.lux you can just specify your location without turning on location services.

Do you have location services on? I don't want to keep adjusting time for NL based on seasons. f.lux handles that automatically based on your entered location - location services not required to be on.

I do have the location service on. In this matter f.lux is much better and no wonder why is widely used.
I will give it a shot and post back here.

Okay, thank you. I think you will like flux and there are other options I have not tried yet, but no issues on the 6+ PCs it's running on here - some are 10+ years old.

Ivan, this is the 23 hrs, 45 min schedule I have. It's the closest you can get to 24 hours because the smallest time increment MS allows is 15 minutes. So, off shortly after midnight and back on at 12:30am.
