The closest I came to a use of Quick Sync was that I found it as a function in K-Lite codec pack integrated in ffdshaw deprecated codec panel and when enabled it was vanilla or lets say it did not give any improvement yet it did not crash at least if that is what you are talking about . However I don't quite know if a problem surface for you from that direction weather I can help you with or not , I mean nobody ever used Quick Sync back in its own time and till date so to have history of troubles and fixes , but if all you need to do is to decode h.264 let me tell you they work just fine on Windows 10 without acceleration .
Dear nIGHTmAYOR!
I really appreciate your work with GMA4500 and HD2000 series drivers. I'd have a request though. I own a laptop with i5-520M processor (no deicated GPU). I don't really see any custom Win10 drivers (OpenGL fix, signed) apart from Quantic 2.0 Rebranded.
Would it be possible that you cook a modded driver like the GMA4500, but for the first generation Intel HD Graphics? (Gen1)
If not, could you please point me towards some guides and know-how, how to make it myself?
I researched Intel HD Gen 1 (That Intel likes to call : Intel® HD Graphics for Previous Generation Intel® Processors) only to find Intel listing the GMA4500 driver as the official driver to install for such a GPU .
So since that is the case I encourage you to just try to set up the one I made for GMA4500 because it already has all supported Hardware IDs by Intel so yours most probably is going to be there .
It does not seem to be a GMA4500 driver to me. It is incorrectly called as Graphics Media Accelerator, that is true, but the documentation states it supports HD Graphics for first generation Core i series.
The IDs in the Intel site package are:
%iILKGM0% = iILKM0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0046
%iILKG0% = iILKD0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042
These are HD Graphics. The IDs in your GMA4500 driver package are Series 4 chipsets.
Also you probably know, but Intel has removed everything older than Core i-series on their website, so if you want to get a GMA4500 driver right now, you can only get it from unofficial sources.
Well believe it or not the driver 2993 is actually written for GMA chipsets and is used over GMA chipsets so it seems they added support for Gen 1 HD GPUs on it out of laziness nothing more .
Now the problem why I never use 2993 in my development and prefer 2869 is that the OpenGL version of it is broken , where they misplaced the OpenGL 64 file by the 32 and the 32 by a vanilla file where end result is that they always crash with OpenGL games .
And to be honest since there is no known "Stable" driver for this breed of GPUs and since I do not own the hardware I have no plan to start a Beta testing thread for it as I tried that once before with another driver and all I had was monkey business and mixed reviews so I couldn't really gather if things are working really or not (Mind you people don't even bother rep or thank or any blahs) .
So all I can offer you is that since you could bother into reading an inf and have little understanding of the process then I suggest the following :
- Download my GMA 4500 (2869) driver
- Edit the kit51428.inf
- Replace :
by%iCNTG0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42
%iCNTG1% = iCNT1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A43
through out the file%iCNTG0% = iCNT0, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0046
%iCNTG1% = iCNT1, PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0042
- Make sure you do not add extra spaces or returns
- Follow the steps to setup the driver found in thread and included texts after you save your edited work .
If it works report back , if it doesn't please direct your curses at Intel where they decided to EOL that breed of GPUs with a broken driver .
Cheers
I just installed it to Windows 10 20H2 x64 on my Fujitsu Lifebook E780, and I can confirm it works. So you can add these deviceIDs safely.
Thank you very much Nightmayor. This installed successfully on my system.
Thanks @nIGHTmAYOR for making a modified version of this driver. It installed no problem on my system after closely following the steps and from what I can tell it's working perfectly!
Many thanks nIGHTmAYOR for the drivers, I can confirm it works with my HP Pro 3300 and definitely notice a BIG performance increase in the games I play.
